As you’d expect, Webster Hall was exceptionally hot, poorly ventilated and rickety on this night. So as soon as Gomez finished their set, I quickly made my way down those steep stairs to the street for some air. While being harassed on the street by Webster Hall’s bouncers, I noticed some people exiting with silk screened concert posters. When one of these bouncers wouldn’t let me re-enter the building to purchase one, I luckily caught another fan about to exit with their newly purchased rock art. Before she could take a step onto the concrete, I managed to get her attention and asked if she could run back up and pick one up for me. She obliged and our transaction took place. She was nice enough to give me her poster and go back to get herself another. The entire exchange took place with the bouncer in my face telling me to move down the street, which was a nice touch. Then it turned out the poster was made by none other than Mike King. The very same Mike King that took a sharpie to a basic be@rbrick to create me a one of a kind at SXSW. Anyway, Gomez rules and so do their fans. Here’s more proof:
