So, Sowmya was just saying how there’s a lack of good lunch spots in Soho where our offices are located. Literally, there’s like a crap deli and Olive’s for overpriced sandwiches.
So - the answer to her is www.seamlessweb.com. All the interns order from there when lazy, plus you get 20% off your first order at many restaurants.
On Friday I cut out of work a lil early to hit up Central Park Summerstage for Video Music Box’s 25th Anniversary. Video Music Box was a staple in my crib as a youth. I was in front of the TV after school every day checking out videos and party footage that you couldn’t see anywhere else. Straight raw Hip-Hop at it’s purest. Then came MTV….but I digress. When I heard about the Anniversary event I had to be there. I hit up the big bro and we made our way to the park to witness NYC hip-hop at it’s realest. The stage was lit up by performances from the Sugar Hill Gang, Special Ed, Naughty By Nature, Lost Boyz, Nice and Smooth and many others. It was a classic night and it made me remember why I love this shit!
Check the footage:
Special Ed
Nice and Smooth ripping it down

Italian Vogue’s August issue is the unofficial “black” issue featuring some of the most beautiful black women in the world. It’s good to see such a highly respected magazine worldwide step up and show love to women of color. Now lets see it every month! Check HERE for a preview pics (NSFW)

ICED chopped it up with R&B newcomer ROZELLE (”Long Night”) and his two super producers, Nitti and Jazze Pha, about music, hanging with John Mayer, and Kobe’s bad day…
ROZELLE
Introduce ROZELLE the artist and ROZELLE the man to all of your new fans
I’m 19 years old just graduated. ROZELLE the artist has been doing this for 5-6 years. I moved to Atlanta from Columbus, Ohio. I’ve been doing this for a long time.
You are really young and already working with the biggest names. Any advice for other young singers?
It’s a mental thing. Be strong and never give up. It’s a hard road even though it looks easy. It’s really about hard work and how hard you work. It’s about you and not other people.
What’s been the biggest challenge for you so far?
Vocal training. Learning to control my voice and learning to sing from my diaphragm and breathe right. I got down to Atlanta thinking it was all about singing and I’m gonna be good. But I had to get right with my cardio!
Dream collaboration? Jigga
Thoughts on the Lakers/Celtics finals? What about Kobe? I’m a Celtics fan so I’m happy. LeBron and them will come back and he will rep and make his statement. Kobe can do what he do, but he will never be Jordan.
NITTI
Why is ROZELLE a star?
Young, fresh, swagger, voice and talent. So he is a threat
Why is Atlanta such a hotbed for talent?
Atlanta has been poppin. Atlanta has been a volcano and we have finally erupted. We have been trying to make an impact in the music scene and now we’re getting acknowledged as a Southern MoTown. We always support all music. We like Snoop Dogg, we like Biggie. We want the same love and respect.
Any thoughts on Lil Wayne pushing a million + albums this week?
It’s great. People are still buying records. It’s a great thing. People are still out there. When ROZELLE does 1.8 [million] don’t be surprised!
Advice for up and coming producers? Do you take demos?
Stay focused. Yes I take demos. I take mp3. Playmakerworldwide@gmail.com. I really check the emails. I check demos. I listen to all demos. That’s how I signed 9th Ward (my artist). I never get too Hollywood to listen to any demo.
What are you both listening to right now?
Nitti: John Mayer. He’s a good friend. I met him through my attorney. We hang out.
JAZZE PHA
What is ROZELLE’s strongest attribute as an artist?
He can actually sing those records live. He has personality. He can carry the crowd, a critical crowd at that.
Who else are you working with now?
T. I. , a new kid B-Rossi, and working on my label Jazze Pha Presents… (no longer Sho Nuff’). It’s gonna be a sonic boom.
Who’s hot to Jazze right now?
The Dream (hottest in the R&B game), Lil Wayne is crazy, T.I. is going to make a lot of cats shake it off a little bit [with his new album]. I love Timbaland. Polow he’s like my nephew.; I’m proud of him.
What’s up with the new Ciara album?
I’m not working with her. I’ve done some songs but I don’t know about the final album.
Any advice for up and coming producers? Do you take demos? It’s okay to look at the blueprint of how beats are made. What puts you ahead is creating your OWN sound. Yes, I take demos. Go to my Myspace.
Thoughts on the Lakers/Celtics finals? What about Kobe?
I thought Kobe gave up. I think he got discouraged. Everything fell upon him and he was having a bad day. There’s always hope for the future.
Dream collaboration?
Prince. I will meet him this weekend.
